“I still survived through it all” – Mildred Brooks’ Incredible Testimony

resident-voice-WEB

Below is the testimonial of Mildred Brooks…

Mildred came to Northpoint Lexington Healthcare Center for a visit on August 30th, driving 2 hours from her current residence to come thank the staff of Northpoint Lexington for the care and love showed to her during her time of rehabilitation. She was brought to Northpoint, as she states below, in a comatose state. Her family was told Mildred would not walk or function independently. Now, Mildred functions independently, drives, and is looking for a job to “keep her busy”! She loved her time at Northpoint Lexington Healthcare Center bonding with the staff saying they all “spoiled” her. She is a true testament to our team and the clinical outcomes of our facility. Congratulations to Encore Therapy and Northpoint Lexington Healthcare Center for another changed life!!!

My name is Mildred Brooks. I’m here to give my testimony.

I was just struck sick on January 23, 2019. I suffered two strokes and I had a blood clot burst in my head. I also suffered from broken ribs and I had a punctured lung. This lead to me being in a coma for about 2 and 1/2 months. All this started on January 23 and I was in the coma until the 3rd week of May. I was placed in Northpoint Lexington Healthcare Center. I woke and I was very terrified and confused at first because I had no idea where I was or who these people were. I came to learn that I had flat-lined twice I was without oxygen for 1hr. 45.min.

I still survived through it all; My head trauma, 8 heart stints, pneumonia, broken rib, a punctured lung, 3 strokes, 2 flat lines, a trach, AND in a coma for 21/2 months.

First and foremost, I want, and have, to give all thanks, honor, and praise to the Lord because without my God I would not have made it without him. I believe he put all the people in my life who were there for me during this time; I had so many wonderful people praying for me from all around. I had so many wonderful nurses and doctors in my life! I would like to thank Northpoint Lexington Healthcare Center for all your help and patience with my therapy, and for some of the hard times I put you through. I can’t stress my thanks enough to you all. But most of all, I want to thank my God for putting you all in my life. THANKS for all your prayers, one and all.
